On September 23, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in India held a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The chief guest, H.E. Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, Commerce Secretary of India, together with more than 500 representatives from Indian government, political parties, enterprises, think tanks, media, diplomatic corps as well as overseas Chinese, Chinese enterprises and students attended the reception.

Ambassador Xu Feihong stated in his speech that, over the past 77 years, the Communist Party of China has united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in making unremitting efforts, and has successfully embarked on the Chinese path to modernization. This has laid a solid foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and made important contributions to world peace and development.

Ambassador Xu pointed out that China and India are close neighbors, and friendly exchanges and cooperation have always been the mainstream of our bilateral relations. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping visited India to attend the 18th BRICS Summit, and once again held a successful meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders reached important consensus on developing China-India relations on a sound and stable track. China would make joint efforts with India to be practitioners of good-neighbourliness and friendship, champions for mutual achievements, exemplars of peaceful coexistence, and leaders in promoting multilateral cooperation, and to promote China-India relations to new heights.

Rajesh Agrawal, Commerce Secretary of India extended warm greetings and felicitations to the Chinese government and Chinese people on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on behalf of the Indian government. He said that President Xi Jinping recently visited India to attend the BRICS summit and met with Prime Minister Modi, injecting positive momentum into India-China relations. India is willing to maintain dialogue with China, strengthen cooperation, and properly handle differences. He is confident that India and China can build a more stable, predictable and mutually beneficial economic and trade relationship.
